Programme on Screening & Promotion of Mental Health among Students

The Department of Sociology in collaboration with Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) Project, National Mental Health Programme, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Sikkim organized a screening programme on Friday, 26th May 2023 in the college library The screening process was conducted by 2nd year student volunteers from the Department of Sociology. A total of 18 student volunteers successfully conducted the screening process with 1st year students of Sociology, both Honours and Elective. The student volunteers eased into their roles as counselors for the day. Faculty members from the Department of Sociology and Counselors from Gangtok and Ranipool Primary Health Centres (PHCs) were also present.The overall feedback was extremely encouraging. The Department of Sociology
hopes to conduct a screening programme on the last Friday of every month for the benefit of college students.
