The Department of Sociology in collaboration with Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) Project, National Mental Health Programme, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Sikkim organised the monthly screening program on Thursday, 19th October 2023 in the college library. This was the fourth screening program wherein students from the Department of Commerce, NBBGC participated in the exercise. Accordingly, 58 students from third year, 72 students from second year and 88 students from first year were screened.
The screening process was conducted by 3rd year student volunteers from the Department of Sociology under the guidance of counsellors from Gangtok and Ranipool Primary Health Centres (PHCs). Faculty members from the Departments of Sociology and Commerce, NBBGC as well as members from the Health Committee were also present to ensure smooth conduct of the program.
Screening & Promotion of Mental Health among Students is a monthly initiative of the Department of Sociology in collaboration with Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN), under Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Sikkim.
