Tulsiram Sharma ‘Kashyap’ Rachana Sanchayan is a book written by Dr Geeta Nirola, Associate Professor, Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College. It has been published by Sahitya Akademi as part of the series of publications of representative works of the makers of Indian literature. This book provides a concise introduction to the literary, social, and political personality of the poet Kashyap, as well as an overview of his published works. Within this volume, readers will find a selection of his representative poems, excerpts from his epic works, short poems, representative stories, essays, and a portion of his novel.

Tulsiram Sharma ‘Kashyap’ is a Sahitya Akademi award-winning poet and one of the prominent figures in Nepali literature. He is recognized as the poet who introduced and established the epic genre in Indian Nepali literature. Kashyap is known for his humanist and nationalist poetry. Through his epics such as ‘Janmabhoomi,’ ‘Aama,’ and ‘Manthan,’ he has made a substantial contribution to elevating Indian Nepali literature to the same level as other Indian literary traditions.

Since he began writing in 1957, poet Kashyap has published three epics, three short poems, one short poem in Hindi, as well as short poems, essays, plays, stories, novels, and a history of Sikkim. While Tulsiram Sharma ‘Kashyap’ has demonstrated versatility across various literary genres, he is most acclaimed and established as a poet.

In Kashyap’s works, one can discern themes of social progressiveness, social consciousness, critique of social distortions and maladjustment, rebellion against misconduct, moral consciousness, social realism, mythological poetic elements, educational and reformist themes, humanist philosophies of life, Indian philosophy, a reverence for culture and tradition, and a sense of contemporaneity.
