In compliance to the letter received from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Sikkim dated 23/11/2022, bearing Memo No. Elec/366/2022/8863, the NBBGC Quiz team attended a State Level Quiz Competition on Electoral Process in India held in the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Baluwakhani, Gangtok on 30th November 2022.
The main objective of the event was to raise awareness regarding Special Summary Revision 2023 among the college students. The syllabus of the quiz competition comprised of topics viz: Electoral Registration Process, General Elections of India, The Election Commission of India, Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, Assembly Election of Sikkim, Legislative Assemblies of Indian States, Constitution of India (Portion Related to Election) and MP s of India and their constituencies.
Five teams participated in the competition- Rhenock Govt. College, Namchi Govt. College, Soreng B.Ed College, and Nar Bahadur Bhandari Govt. College, with each team comprising of two students. Students had prepared well and they actively participated in the programme. Winners were declared in the end and prizes were distributed to the teams who secured first, second and third positions by the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim. NBBGC bagged the first position.
In conclusion it can be highlighted that the objective of the programme was met and students gave positive feedback about the programme. Geo tagged photos taken during the Quiz competition have been attached as pictorial evidence of the programme conducted.
