NBBGC bags First position in Read and Grow Student Fest

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), Students’ Wing organised READ AND GROW, SEASON II, a literary fest aimed at providing a platform to the students who play crucial role in shaping up the society. It was held from 18th to 20th May 2022 and held at at Manan Kendra, Gangtok. Various educational and literary activities for the students like essay writing, poetry, painting and Inter College traditional and modern dance competitions were held.

The soft opening of the programme was held at NBBGC auditorium on 18th May 2022. The Chief guest, Mr. Indra Hang Subba, Hon'ble MP attended the programme along with Guest of Honour, Mr. Aditya Golay, Hon'ble MLA. There were four judges in the competition from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Heritage, Government of Sikkim. A dance competition was held between 13 colleges, out of which 6 colleges were selected to advance to the next round.

On 19th May 2022, the programme was graced by Mr. Arun Upreti, Hon'ble Speaker as Chief guest. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Sangay Lepcha, Hon'ble Deputy Speaker, Government of Sikkim. 3 out of 6 colleges were shortlisted for the dance competition finale.

On 20th May 202, Mr. M. N. Sherpa, Hon'ble Minister graced the finale as Chief guest and Mr. Bhim Hang Limboo, Hon'ble Minister, was the Guest of Honour. The dance competition was between three colleges in which the team from NBBGC emerged as the winner, bagging the first prize. Similarly, in the Poetry Competition, Yapchungla Bhutia, a VIth Semester Student of History Honours, NBBGC, stood first.
